NOISE ALERT Thanks to all the residents who pushed and pulled at the Oakland bureaucracy to make this information available.

The Federal Aviation Administration has notified Oakland International Airport (OAK) that an F-18 Hornet (military fighter jet) and an F-8 Bearcat (WWII fighter single-engine aircraft) are scheduled to perform a fly-by over the USS Hornet docked at the former Naval Air Station in Alameda.

The aircraft are scheduled to depart OAK for the fly-by between 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2003.

The F-18 is scheduled to land at OAK at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2003 and depart OAK at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2003.
