British newspaper publishes story on Schwarzenegger, "The Groping Governor"

The London Evening Standard published an article on Monday on Arnold Schwarzenegger's history of groping and sexual harassment against women.
The Standard was one of many newspapers I contacted and sent information after I wrote some columns on that same subject for various Internet sites [such as at http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2003/08/1634503_comment.php#1634648] about a week ago. Has anyone seen any other similar stories, such as in U.S. newspapers?
The Standard's story is here..
It's an interesting story by Wendy Leigh, author of Arnold: An Unauthorised Biography. It‚s important to note that TV cameras actually recorded Robot Man putting his hand on Terminator 3 co-star Kristanna Loken's butt while they waved to the crowds from a balcony with Maria close by them a mere few weeks ago. Not even Packwood would be that bold. And Republicans and some Democrats still think this "family man" is fit to be governor of California?
Here is an excerpt from that article:
"And when Arnold came to London in 2000, his behavior led insiders to label him "the octopus‚" When TV presenter Anna Richardson interviewed Arnold for Big Screen at the Dorchester Hotel, he asked her pointblank if her breasts were real. He then pulled her onto his knee, circled her nipple with his finger, squeezed it and announced: "Yeah, they are real."
And when Denise Van Outen interviewed him for The Big Breakfast, he slapped her bottom then brushed his arm against her breast. Afterwards, he smirked: "It was a handful. I never know if my wife's watching. I'll tell her it was a stuntman."
Arnold's apparent disregard for Maria's feelings, and his certainty that she will ignore his chauvinistic behavior towards other women, is so strong that when he was promoting Terminator 3 in London a few weeks ago, TV cameras caught him putting his hand on co-star Kristanna Loken's bottom while they waved to the crowds from the balcony of the Odeon Leicester Square. Maria was close by.
The great irony is that Arnold is seeking office in one of the most politically correct states in America. And there is even talk that he could run for president one day, if the rules are changed to allow foreign-born candidates.
The roots of Arnold‚s attitude to women lie far away in his homeland of Austria. When his father, Gustav, observed that the 17-year-old Arnold had never had a girlfriend and was obsessed by bodybuilding - an activity which has always had gay connotations - he became worried about his sexuality.
So he did all he could to encourage Arnold to bring girls to their home in Graz; he gave them wine then left them alone together, hoping that the inevitable would happen.
Gustav‚s permissiveness paid off. By the time Arnold was 19, and had come to England to compete in the Mr Universe contest, his appetite for women was well-developed - as was his crude approach to them.
Newcastle bodybuilder John Citrone told me: "Any time we were in hotels or bars, he'd ask girls straight out: "Do you want to come to bed with me?‚ He was very forward."
Guardian column names Schwarzenegger mistress
A recent column in another British newspaper, The Guardian, named Gigi Goyette as Schwarzenegger's secret mistress for the past seven years. The column at http://football.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/Column/0,4284,1015989,00.html said Goyette made the claim on a TV program called "Arnold Schwarzenegger - Made In Britain," a look back to his beginnings in bodybuilding contests.
Goyette described herself as not so much a mistress, but as Robot Man's "avenue of relaxation." She also explained Schwarzenegger's fondness for groping this way: "Sure, he will sometimes grab a woman's ass and say, like, 'Hey, you've got a nice ass,' but it is just, like, his way of making them feel better. Every woman likes to get a compliment from time to time."
Group seeks women who will speak about gropings and sexual harassment by Robot Man
Among many people who have emailed me recently is someone who works with an organization of activist rape survivors. She's heard from women who have had similar experiences of being sexually harassed and even slammed against walls when they rebuffed Schwarzenegger and is trying to organize a group that will speak out publicly.
And others have sent similar stories to me since I wrote those columns. Schwarzenegger could be more of a womanizer/robotic groper than even Packwood.
If you know a woman who has been sexually harassed by Schwarzenegger and would like to join others in speaking out, contact stoparnold@aol.com.
Oprah is considering endorsing Schwarzenegger
It was expected that someone like Rob Lowe, who once video-taped a sexual session of him in bed with two women, including an under-aged one, would join Schwarzenegger‚s campaign. After all, they can go out together hunting for under-aged girls to grope. [See, I'm actually criticizing a Democrat, too.]
But Oprah Winfrey is considering endorsing Robot Man, which would really help his support among women. If you don‚t feel she should, contact the Oprah Show at http://www.oprah.com/email/tows/email_tows_main.jhtml.
Rove, other Republicans pressuring Simon, McClintock to leave race
Fox News reports that Republican leaders are pressuring conservative Republicans like Bill Simon, who was the Republican nominee last year against Davis, and state Sen. Tom McClintock to get out of the race to make it easir for Schwarzenegger. So far, they have resisted the strong-arm tactics, but you wonder how long they can put up with cell phone calls by Rove and others who do his dirty work.
Fox's story is at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,94955,00.html.

P.S. To sign a petition to totally recall Schwarzenegger, go to < a href="http://www.petitiononline.com/schwarze/petition.html">http://www.petitiononline.com/schwarze/petition.html. More than 600 people already have signed it in the first few days.
To sign a petition to oppose the recall, go to href="http://involve.progressivemajority.org/action/index.asp?step=2&item=11167.
Yeah, the groping and cheating is unseemly.
But the really troubling aspect of the Schwarzaneggeraut is his reluctance to make his plans clear. "Californian's are tired of facts and figures!"
Uh, no, Ah-nuld. Maybe the brain-dead ones are.
Also, any Arnold claim about not having time to put together a platform rings a tad false. Truly, how long has it been rumored that he wanted to run for Governor? Years! And he hasn't thought about it until now? COME ON!!!
What's truly unseemly is the political media falling all over themselves praising this actor's skill with sound bites and "presence."
Will no one ask the hard questions? Not our star-struck press!
Posted by: KIJE Project on August 20, 2003 11:02 PMCan I have the link to the Bill Clinton Abuses Women website?
Posted by: Sandor Kiss on August 22, 2003 12:49 PMThere is no such web site for Bill because he never abused women the way Arnold does, he always asked permission, and by all accounts (the STarr report) he accepted "No" graciously and without retaliating.
Posted by: Jeannette on August 22, 2003 01:37 PMI don't understand the problem here, I don't know how Arnold can be accused of such "terrible and demeaning" acts upon women, if the women let him do them. That just isn't right. If you want to stop Arnold from sleeping with lots of random women, then stop sleeping with him girls, and stay out of his reach. Get real.
Posted by: Aido McBane on August 28, 2003 04:16 AMDo you understand anything of what the article actually said?
Arnold _gropes_ and _manhandles_ women, women who don't have a chance to stop him or who, because they are on televsion or are being photographed with Arnold, are too embarassed or wrongheadedly professional to kick him in the balls. Hard. And repeatedly.
If he wants to have a long term mistress I couldn't care less, but it's a crying shame for his wife. And if Arnold the Pig ever dares to open his mouth about family values he'll deserve every second of negative publicity that comes his way for being such a scorched earth liar.

Posted by: Aido McBane on September 1, 2003 03:48 AMWhy is it that you people are so worried about these tv presenters getting "harrassed", screw them i'm sure they get paid large amounts of money, they've already made themselves media whores they may as well continue the process. Don't bother replying to this, i won't check the site again, theres only so much moaning i can put up with. Political correctness is the cause of ALL our problems!
Posted by: Sleeper on September 1, 2003 06:29 AMI think I see a pattern here. I loved 'Animal House'
but you two want to live 'Porky IV.'
Note that this time I am called a redneck and the implication is made that I am also PC.
Aido: "Arnold's not a liar" (you have no way of knowing that), "is really genuine" (it's called "acting") and it's his wife's fault if he sleeps around. I suspect that you are one unhappy man and that women detest you.
"I am in college..." Now that sentence scares me.

Posted by: Aido McBane on September 2, 2003 01:59 AMaido...thanks for making my day...that was the funniest thing i have ever read
Posted by: tthomas on September 2, 2003 11:41 AMHa you losers, only on an American website could you have a comment like - "Have something to say about what you just read? This is the place" Maybe you should put in a little disclaimer saying "You may have free speech but only if you agree with what we say". Just cause you disagree with someone doesn't make them wrong. Land of the Free my ass.
Anyway i'm posting Aidos final comment that he sent to me just to prove to myself that people can still have an opinon without being censored:
" i dont understand why you just deleted my comments. i tell you, that there is no cause for alarm, people, arnie holds no superiority complex over women, but yes, he does make the most of them and he also makes the most of all they are good for. obviously the editor of this site is a woman and doesnt agree because thats the kind of oppressive age we live in now, where women scream if they dont get their way. how can we cohabit with this constant whining in our ear? i stuck up for arnie because it is the epitome of the whole men vs women eternal battle.
my overall message is this: noone can win, women do stupid crap like ride a movie star, and its "jesus why would she lower herself like that" or "oh she's such a slut" or something, men do stupid crap along the same lines and its like "cool" or "i would if i had the chance". does anyone see what i am getting at?
and if you delete this message, it really does take away from YOUR own last sentences, oaklandnews, "Have something to say about what you just read? This is the place."
and thanks tommy, i aim to please. at least someone appreciated my DELETED comments!!!!
oakland news are gee-bags
aido mcbane"
Imagine what it takes to be banned by OaklandNews...
No, don't. What little Aido wrote was sophomoric, crude and irrelevant.
Perhaps I am an uncultured person but what the hell are "gee-bags"?
Posted by: Jane Powell on September 3, 2003 11:20 AMA geebag my friends is an excellent Irish insult implying that you are a bag of gee and I must say it seems to fit this situation well. Kudos Aido my friend, Kudos.
Posted by: Ididurma on September 5, 2003 05:13 AMClinton never asked permission before he raped
that woman in Arkansas in the late 70s when he was
Attorney General. Read Partners in Power by
Roger Morris, the best critique of both those
scumballs, Bill & Hillary, and largely from a Left
viewpoint. Or Christopher Hitchens Nobody Left
To Lie To for a total expose of this sexual abuser.
Nor was Clinton gracious about accepting no for
an answer, ask Paula Jones, who by the way,
had much more SERIOUS charges than that
penny-ante stuff of Anita Hill's but look who the
femi nuts backed !
Nope, nope, nope. Michael, you're too well known as rabidly anti-Clinton -- note that you always tie Hillary into Bill's (alleged) misdeeds. Quoting Christopher Hitchens on this is like quoting Bill O'Reilly -- I don't think there could be a less
fair or less balanced source.
I never believed Paula Jones allegations of force.
Too many other women have said repeatedely, publicly, that Bill always took "no" for an answer. Always.
Nice try, Jeannette, but no cigar. You apparently do not read carefully.
I never tied Hillary into Bill's SEXUAL misdeeds. The Roger Morris book
documents the en toto effects of the Clinton's reactionary policies in
Arkansas and in DC. I voted for Clinton in 92 but became quickly
disenchanted with his policies, quite aside from his low character.
I was never known as rabidly anti-Clinton nor I ever discussed him
much in print at all. Willey, Jones and many other women have testified
that he is anything but a gentleman. That you don't believe Jones has
about as much cognitive relevance as a rightwinger who doesn't believe
Anita Hill. It's strictly a kneejerk partisan reaction.
Christopher Hitchens, though I disagree with him in many areas, has no
relation to O'Reilly, neither tactically or ideologically. I read Chris for
almost 20 years in The Nation and he was always on the mark as regards
the Clintons. As well as Reagan, both Bushes, the uselessness of the
Demo Party as a progressive force and much more.
That Clinton was a disaster in all respects for the Democratic Party is
well known.
PS to my response to Jeannette,
you should look up the hilarious Andrew Sullivan lengthy
review of Sid Blumenthal's wacko defense of the Clintons,
it was published a couple of months ago in The New York
Observer and properly shreds Sid's incredible apologia
for the indefensible behavior of Bill and the policies of
both Clintons. Sorry but Sid is not a credible source
on Hitchens or much else.
I completly agree with aido and I think he should maybe write for oakland news give it a even opinion. Nobody wants a news website thats extreme right or left, we should have dualling reporters. Give the man a say i think it could stimulate some interesting debate.
P.S. if anybody agree's with me tell the site
Good for you mcbane
Thanks, Jimbo, you are absolutely right.
I regard Jeannette as a very dear friend
but her purple prose a la Arnie combined
with the incredible defense of sexual predator
cum rapist Clinton is way off the mark.
And what about Ted Kennedy ? A worse
sexual predator could hardly be imagined,
unless you factor in his late lowlife
brothers, JFK and RFK. I believe the
Kennedy boys deepsixed Monroe.
In any case, we are now witnessing the
utter bankruptcy of the Democratic Party's
apologists, they have no ideas or philosophy,
just a sorryarse defense of antiheroes like
Sick Willy.
Arnie would be a miserable governor of California because he apparently understands nothing about governance.
If you want to address Arnold as a political issue, then fine.
But no more highjacking the thread. No more of Clinton (either) or of the Kennedys or of Democrats v Republicans v anyone else. The issue here is Arnie, okay?
We really can't address Arnie in isolation from the larger context nor
is he the issue here, Davis is a terrible governor with plenty of governing
experience, he is the subject of the recall so we can't arbitrarily be limited
to discussing the recall based on the premises in which you want to
control the dialogue.
Arnold himself is another Kennedy loving liberal, his absurd position
that he won't cut education spending is convincing thoughtful people
to back Tom McClintock, who is chock of specifics on cutting government.
People who want more govt can vote for Camejo, as many of us did
10 months ago, a Camejo vote makes even more sense now that he
has a better chance. Arnie's views on gun control, environment and
abortion are not going over with many Republicans.
But replacing a medioce DLC centrist like Davis with the BustaMan
doesn't make a bit of sense, it's the old Let's Just Change The
Safety Pin line again.
Yes, we can address Arnie, meaning this abomination of a recall attempt and all the candidates it has
spawned, in isolation from the previous 50 years of American politics. This election stands alone, although it is one of Karl Rove's attacks on democracy and Democrats.
What position does Arnold have on the environment? For him to say "Don't worry" is not at all reassuring.
Posted by: Jeannette on September 9, 2003 02:09 PMThis is not a referendum on Arnold, Gray Davis is the villain in the piece here.
Nor is this wonderful recall process in isolation from the miserable failure
of the Democratic Party and its generations of misgovernance here in
California and nationally. "Environmentalism" has become the new Communism
since all the leftist economic ideas have collapsed. Arnie probably has a
terrible liberal position on this as he does on many other things.
I'm voting for McClintock, his economic ideas are sound.
I heard Camejo, BustaMan (love that picture of him standing next to Pignacio in
Rotunda, yesterday's Chron !)and Arianna, all they was play up to the usual
liberal-minority coalition bs during that KPFA debate. I'm strongly FOR 54,
Ward was right on 209 (I was wrong to vote against it) and thank "god"
or Ayn Rand (the Real god) for Prop 13, which I did vote for. I voted
against 187 but am conflicted about it when I see Beaner politicos like
Iggy and Busta trying to turn us into Mexifornia. I was wrong to vote
against term limits and I salute the GOP for putting them, we need them
at the Federal level too. Karl Rove has nothing to do with the recall,
which is a very democratic procedure, we should have more often.
Dean is a fraud as are the other Demos and the Bush nuts, all are run
by the Israeli AIPAC lobby. I'd vote for Rep. Ron Paul for Prez.
Final warning Michael: You may use OaklandNews to vent your spleen about candidates et cetera. You are even allowed to call them "buttheads" and to be X degree of vulgar. But neither you nor anyone else is allowed to make racial/ethnic blah blah slurs on my blog. (See "Beaner politicos" above.)
Does everyone out there in Snoozeland understand this distinction? (I know many of you would prefer no vulgarity, no swearing...)
This comment is staying up only so that all the Aidos and Michaels learn that OaklandNews is a monitored forum which means that I, the Editor,
get to decide what stays and what goes. And I don't accept racial slurs.
There are plenty of other places where you can say anything at all and no one will bother you.
Disgustedly,
Posted by: Jeannette on September 11, 2003 12:31 PMHypocrisy is thy middle name ! Bustamante him self used the N word
at a black political gathering two years ago without any condemnation
from you, I might add ! You can do what you please on your site but
I am SICK OF THIS PC CRAP !
And one more thing it would be very hard to top the degree of vulgariity
that YOU HAVE DISPLAYED IN YOUR COMMENTS ON ARNIE !!!!
FOR YOU TO LECTURE ME ON VULGARITY IS LIKE GETTING LECTURED
ON SOBRIETY BY THE TOWN DRUNK.
Puleeze !
Get a grip, Michael. _I_ didn't use the "N" word.
And where is the astonishing "vulgarity" I allegedly have displayed re Arnie?
You make claims to knowing me well? Then you should know that one thing I am not is PC. You're deliberately ignoring that there's a huge difference between finding racial and ethnic slurs revolting and unacceptable and choosing to accept some vulgarity and swearing.
No more hijacking threads from you, either.
Posted by: Jeannette on September 11, 2003 08:16 PMLook at your comment on the August 22 story ,
that was incredibly vulgar.
I don't think beaner is bad, there are a lot of worse
tjhings to be called.
As far as the hijacking threads lie goes, that's just
BS, you don't tell me how I'm supposed to respond
to the comments made on this board.
I think we were much healthier as a culture when we
felt free to use slurs, blacks use the N word all the time, it's racist to say whites shouldn't be able to
on occasion.
both of you are losing track of the bigger picture, which is the issue of arnie being the "groping guv". if you ask me, in reference to Gregory Smith's lectures in Yale in the seventies, its all a matter of perception. i am sure many people have said this in the past, right up until the time where they got amply plundered by ravenous men, but that is not the issue.
in this sense, i would have to say that other commenters on this page had it right when they stood up for arnie, there is no need to be completely and utterly opposed to one person! look what happened to the liberal democrats in the UK in the 40's! does noone else see the trend in which they have ensued upon themselves to follow?
"do not misconstrue thine mistakes as lesser mistakes, for this will be your downfall" is a quote said by arnie in one of his early and lesser known works, and i wouldnt believe it for a second that if someone of his high moral standing could stoop to such low levels as to read such garbage with which you seem determined to orally spout, jeannette.
at least we all now know what you do when you get something yucky in your mouth.
good day.
Posted by: Johnny E. America on September 21, 2003 09:38 AMLet me see if I understand you. I am being attacked
for reprinting an article about (1) Arnold's inability
to keep his hands to himself and about (2)his former mistress. The English women who were groped did not appreciate it and went public with their stories.
It's just a guess, but I'm betting that most American women wouldn't appreciate being publicly groped by a stranger no matter how famous he is.
And I'm quite certain that most Californians who vote don't want a governor who is going to be sued
for sexual harassment.
Fascinating to see how you boys love Arnie and completely fail to understand women.
